Biography

Jane Caborn is Head of Waste and Sustainability at Westinghouse Electric Company with over 25 years’ experience in waste characterisation and management. She is a Chartered Chemist with PhD in radiochemistry from the University of Southampton and Chair of the NNUF-EXACT. Jane has extensive experience of assessing new treatment technologies and has been involved in several projects associated with investigating the behaviour, characterisation and decontamination of radionuclides. She has led projects across the UK nuclear estate and is the Technical Lead for the Springfields Melter for Advanced Recycling and Treatment (SMART) a key component in the development of Westinghouse’ Waste Management capability.
