Biography

Liam is a PhD student in NSE researching nuclear safety for the unique challenges of advanced nuclear systems. In his research, Liam is working to improve the economics and safety of Gen IV Reactors through tackling the unique challenges of advanced reactor waste and improving performance during severe accidents. Liam’s career at MIT NSE began as an undergraduate where he worked with the MIT Nuclear Reactor Lab as Reactor Operator. He has co-authored several pieces on fusion regulatory frameworks for MIT’s Science Policy Review and the American Nuclear Society
