George Cook The University of Manchester, School of Chemical Engineering Academic supervisor: Prof Philip Martin Industrial Supervisor: Dr Nick Smith, Dr Antonio Di Buono Research Areas: Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, spectral analysis, characterisation. Academic qualifications: MPHYS Physics, University of Manchester. Studied a variety of subjects including Nuclear Structure and Reactions, Photonics, Quantum Physics, Atomic Physics, Statistical Physics and Thermodynamics. Masters project was the development of a novel ion trap using printed circuit boards and 3D printing.
