Biography

Dr. Um got a Ph.D. in aqueous geochemistry at University of Nevada, Reno, 2001 and joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2002. As a senior research scientist (IV) in PNNL, Dr. Um is working for radionuclides sorption and transport, waste form development for 99Tc immobilization, and performance assessment of the proposed low-level radioactive wastes repository at the Hanford Site. Dr. Um is also an adjunct professor in the department of Environmental Sciences at Washington State University from June 1, 2004 to present.
