Biography

A materials scientist with his primary research related to nuclear safety in the context of reactor life extension, nuclear waste storage, decommissioning technologies and accident response. In each of these areas he has delivered both fundamental and applied research working closely and successfully with the UK nuclear industry. Most significant advances have been made through using a combination of cutting-edge surface and materials analysis techniques and robotic tools to understand the composition and behaviour of nuclear materials in decommissioning and waste storage environments.
