Biography

Dr Dean Connor is an environmental scientist working at the UK National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL). He holds a Master's degree in Geology and a PhD in Physics from the University of Bristol. Dean's primary research interest has concerned developing advanced methods of conducting environmental gamma radiation monitoring surveys through the use of drones and the opportunities they present for fusing data from different sensors. Since joining NNL in 2022, Dean has continued to actively produce research in his PhD field as well as broadening his scope to include providing environmental monitoring advice in the fields of nuclear security, waste management and decommissioning, nuclear safeguards among others.
