Biography

Mellissa Komninakis received her B.S. in Biological Engineering from the University of Florida and M.S. in Materials Science & Engineering from Florida International University (FIU). She is currently a Research Specialist for the Applied Research Center (ARC) at FIU, where she supports Deactivation and Decommissioning (D&D) testing and evaluation of fixative materials to stabilize residual radioactive contamination under ARC's cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (DOE-EM).
