Jason Rakos just completed his first year PhD radiochemistry student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He got his Bachelors degree in chemistry from the UNLV in the spring of 2021. His electrochemical research experiences started when he was an undergraduate in August of 2019. I have been working on an MSIPP project studying the use of electrochemistry for long-term monitoring and low level detection of pertechnetate. When this work is successfully optimized it could be studied for passive monitoring of a variety of radionuclides in groundwater such as uranium.
