Biography

Dr. Esch is a physicist with a specialty in nuclear particle detection. He received his M.S. in 1997 and his PhD in 2001 from the Justus Liebig University, Giessen Germany. For the past 25 years Dr. Esch has built, designed, and fielded particle and gamma detectors, pulsed power supplies, and explosives experiments. He led projects in detector material development for the design of better cheaper materials. Dr. Esch has expertise in data acquisition and data analysis. He has designed, scheduled, and executed accelerator experiments at TRIUMF, Canada and PSI, Switzerland. He designed and managed the construction of portal monitor test-beds. He designed feedthrough technology for induction heating in glove boxes.
