Biography

Mr. Lewis joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1992. He is currently Deputy Director, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards. In the past he served as Assistant for Operations, Office of the Executive Director for Operations; Director, Division of Materials Safety and State Agreements; and Director, Division of Preparedness and Response. Mr. Lewis received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the State University of New York at Fredonia and a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Arizona. He is a graduate of NRC’s Senior Executive Service Candidate Program and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Center for Homeland Defense and Security, Executive Leaders Program.
