Biography

Mr. Joe Lopez has been a life-long residence of Carlsbad and has worked for WIPP for the past 39 years. In these years, he has served as Program Manager for several IT WIPP subcontractors and is an NQA-1 Lead Auditor specializing in Software Quality Assurance (SQA). He currently holds the office of Information Technology Division Director for the Department of Energy (DOE), Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO). Mr. Lopez holds a Masters’ in Occupational Safety & Health/Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University. In 2022, Joe completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.
