Kaleb Houck is a software architect in Idaho National Laboratory's Digital Engineering Department. His research focuses on digital twin, extended reality, and applying artificial intelligence to advanced energy programs. He currently leads the efforts to producing a novel digital twin for the Beartooth nuclear fuel cycle testbed using digital twin and extended reality for design, training, and eventual operation. He is a co-PI for an effort to inspect Hanford waste tank pits using small-form robotics for the purposes of inspecting and characterizing the pits using sensors, AI, and digital twin.
