Biography

Shawn L. Montgomery currently serves the Department of Energy – Office of Legacy Management (LM) as one of their Communications Specialist and oversees LM’s “STEM with LM” program along with all outreach and STEM activities focused on the Navajo Nation and Hopi Tribe. Shawn spent 2 years as the Director of Communications and Community Involvement for the VA Western Colorado Health Care System and served as the Public Information Officer for the Grand Junction Fire Department (Grand Junction, Colorado) after 8 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Shawn also served 5 years as a combat medic for the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division, deploying to Iraq and Kosovo.
