Biography

Brenda Morrisseau is Anicinabe from Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba, includes 3-treaty territories where she grew up and lives today. Her parents raised her by providing from the land with trapping, fishing, wild rice picking and gardening. Her community is an independent Band with a growing population close to ten thousand members. Sagkeeng is the mouth of the river and is known as the meeting place. She is the Manager of the Community Environment Monitoring Program, named Niigan Aki which translates to Earth First. Her education includes a Bachelor of Indigenous Health and Human Services, from Brandon University.
