Biography

Juan Uribe is the Acting Team Lead for the Consent-Based Siting (CBS) Team in the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Integrated Waste Management. In his role, Juan has led work on the DOE’s funding opportunity announcement for capacity building and mutual learning, the revised consent-based siting process issued in 2023, and most recently is serving as the federal lead overseeing the work of the consent-based siting consortia. Juan has 17 years of federal government experience including 14 years at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and a MS in Geotechnical Engineering from U. of Maryland.
