Biography

Orito Oshiro joined Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. in 2022. He belongs to Architectural Maintenance Engineering Group, being responsible for plan or design of construction and inspection of existing buildings and facilities such as air conditioning and electrical equipment. He has been working on establishing methods for long-term evaluation of the integrity of reactor buildings, which have been highly radioactive since the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. As part of his work, he is considering the use of quadrupedal robots, drones, and 3D laser scanners inside the reactor building.
