Biography

Satoshi Okada is a chief engineer at Fukushima Decommissioning Engineering Center, Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy, Ltd. He received his Ph.D. of Information Science from Tohoku University as a specialist of robotics. He has been engaged in the development of inspection robots for nuclear power plants. Since 2011, he works in the research and development of work robots and survey robots to be applied for Fukushima-Daiichi decommissioning. In particular, he is focusing on PCV internal investigations, and has repeatedly successfully investigated the situation of Unit-1 using a robot with a unique concept
