Biography

Jeremy Whitlock has three decades' experience as a scientist and manager in the Canadian and international nuclear community. He is Senior Technical Advisor for Safeguards by Design at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. Prior to that he worked at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories as a reactor physicist involved in CANDU and research-reactor design, and later as manager of the Non-proliferation and Safeguards R&D program. Dr. Whitlock received a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Waterloo (1988), and an M.Eng. and PhD from McMaster University (1995). He has been at the IAEA since 2017.
