Biography

Dr. Steven Maheras is a staff member at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and has over 30 years of experience in the transportation and waste management fields. Dr. Maheras is the lead for the DOE-NE Office of Integrated Waste Management shutdown nuclear power plant site evaluations. In this capacity, his technical focus is in the areas of transportation infrastructure and planning, and dry storage of spent nuclear fuel. In addition, Dr. Maheras is working to develop the regulatory framework for the transportable nuclear power plant transportation package approval.
