Mat Irwin currently works at Hanford as the assistant manager for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) supporting the completion of construction, startup testing, and transition to operations of the Low-Activity Waste (LAW) Facility. Mr. Irwin holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from ASU. He began his career working at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, followed by work as a shift test engineer supporting overhaul of submarines at Mare Island. Mr. Irwin joined Hanford in 1994 and has worked across the site as a facility representative and manager in the fac rep program, safety, and health and now at WTP.
