Biography

Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in physics from The Catholic University of America in 1997. After that, he worked at the Vitreous State Laboratory until September 1999. From October 1999 to the present, he has worked at KEPCO and KHNP in Korea for over 24 years as a senior researcher and a principal researcher. Dr. Kim's main research is in the field of treatment of radioactive waste and disposal of it. Dr. Kim is the director of Radiation & Decommissioning Lab. of KHNP Central Research Institute from December 2022 to the present, and is in charge of overall research on radiation safety, radioactive waste management including spent fuel and decommissioning.
