Biography

Michael Budney served as submarine officer, commanding both a Trident submarine and a submarine tender. His final active duty assignment was Deputy Director of the Nuclear Command and Control System Support Staff, performing nuclear command and control oversight duties for the Commander U.S. Strategic Command. He spent 6 years with the Northrop Grumman Corporation developing missile defense, electronic warfare and undersea surveillance systems. Within the DOE Mike was Director of the Office of Business Operations in DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and then was assigned as the Savannah River Operations Office manager in 2018.
