Biography

Chris Halliwell has worked in the nuclear industry for over 30 years including Fuel Manufacture and subsequently Head of Sellafield Emergency Management In 2006 he took over as Managing Director of the UK Low Level Waste Repository and oversaw the separation of the site from Sellafield Ltd and the formation of a new standalone Site Licence company. Following transfer of ownership of LLWR in 2008 Chris returned to Sellafield as Head of Decommissioning projects which has included a significant period leading the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo ILW waste retrievals programme which successfully commenced operations in 2022.
