Biography

Mrs. Sonitza Blanco has worked for DOE at SRS for 37 years in various project and program management positions. Soni is Director of the Waste Disposition Programs Division. She is responsible for planning, integration and execution of the Liquid Waste Program including contract management. She served as the project manager completing on schedule/under budget the Actinide Removal Process and Modular Caustic Side Solvent Extraction Unit, better known as ARP/MCU, first successful salt processing capability in the DOE Complex and pilot for the Salt Waste Processing Facility. Soni holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Puerto Rico.
