Biography

Mr Stefan Mayer is team leader for radioactive waste disposal at IAEA (2012-present). He responds to IAEA Member States’ requests for information, cooperation, and support in disposal; and establishes guidance and provides for transfer of knowledge on topics central to implementing disposal based on international good practices. Prior to joining the IAEA, Mr Mayer was employed by the French national RWMO, Andra (2002-2012); and before that he worked at the Technical Support Organisation to the US NRC.
