Biography

Michael Paul is the CEO of Wismut GmbH, which is running the remediation of the former East German uranium mining industry. He also worked in leading positions in numerous mine closure and rehabilitation projects in Europe, Central Asia and Africa. Michael holds a Diploma in Geology and a Ph.D. in Mineralogy. He authored/ co-authored 130+ publications. In view of the huge experience gained over three decades of successful transformation of post-mining areas Wismut is also engaged in the field of legacy management and international capacity building.
