Biography

Mr. Magwood became Director-General, NEA in 2014. From 2010-2014, he was a US NRC Commissioner. From 2005-2010, he provided independent strategic & policy advice to world clients. From 1998-2005, he was the DOE Director of the US Government’s civilian nuclear energy program. He also served as a NEA Steering Committee Bureau member from 1999-2005 & as Chair from 2004-2005. Before DOE, he managed nuclear policy programs at EEI in Washington DC & was a scientist at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. He holds a BS in Physics & English from Carnegie Mellon & a Master’s from the Univ. of Pittsburgh.
