Biography

Maricela León is a Assistant Professor of Bilingual Education and STEM at UT Arlington. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Ph.D in Education and a master's degree in bilingual education, and has extensive experience in supporting students identified as Emergent Bilinguals. She has worked closely with teachers, students, and their families to create supportive learning environments that promote language development and cultural integration. Maricela's research interests include STEM education, dual language programs, and translanguaging pedagogies, all of which reflect her commitment to advancing research practices that enhance educational experiences for multilingual learners.
