With an education career spanning three decades, this educator is a passionate advocate for language learning and appreciation of cultures, and prioritizes supporting students, staff, and families. Heather’s extensive experience in the classroom, from 4K to 12th grade, is complemented by her work at the district level. As the Language Acquisition Coordinator and instructional coach for the Department of Language & Global Learning in a large urban school district, she played a crucial role in influencing the district’s support of multilingual learners. In this position, she worked with and supported classroom teachers across various disciplines, especially the Dual Language, ESL, and World Language staff, providing them with effective educational strategies to enhance student learning. Heather is currently a student teacher field supervisor, supporting our newest educators in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee teacher licensing program. She is also the Principal Consultant with her own business Envisage Team, where she partners with schools and districts to support staff and students, focusing on language acquisition and student achievement. Heather has a deep commitment to educational excellence and a belief in the power of language to connect people and broaden perspectives.
