Brierley Associates
With more than 10 years of experience with Brierley Associates in the geostructural engineering field, I have worked on multiple temporary and permanent support of excavation projects. Some of those projects include protecting the adjacent buildings or underground infrastructure during construction and demolition and involve the utilization of a wide array of support of excavation systems such as cutter soil mixing (CSM) and deep soil mixing (DSM) walls, secant piles, sheet piles, or timber sheeting systems, as well as initial and permanent ground support for tunnels and shafts. For the last year, I have taken on a business development role and am responsible for pursuing project opportunities on the West Coast, mainly in California, but also in Washington State and Nevada.
Prior to my experience in the shoring field, I was an Engineer with a local agency responsible for design review, permitting, and code compliance checking. I have worked in academia as a lecturer teaching Engineering Materials course and Soil Mechanics lab, and researching RAP-Soil Mixtures in Earthwork Applications.
I have an MS degree in Construction Management from Florida Tech in the US and an MS degree in Transportation Engineering from UACEG in Sofia, Bulgaria.
