Cindy Hoffman English Department Chair, Chaffey High School Chaffey Joint Union High School District | Jurupa Valley, CA cynthia.hoffman@cjuhsd.net | (909) 702-2151 Cindy Hoffman is a veteran educator with over 20 years of experience in secondary English and Multilingual Learner instruction. She currently serves as the English Department Chair at Chaffey High School, where she leads initiatives focused on equity, inclusive curriculum design, and instructional coaching. Cindy has taught in both high school and adult education settings, working extensively with multilingual learners using Universal Design for Learning (UDL), scaffolded academic writing, and culturally responsive practices. Her passion lies in supporting educators to create student-centered environments that honor diverse identities and promote language-rich instruction. She has presented at local and national conferences, including NABE (2023), California Council for Adult Education (CCAE), California Association of Teachers of English (CATE), and districtwide professional development events. Her workshops have addressed topics such as rubric-based grading, Canvas LMS integration, project-based learning, and cross-curricular collaboration to support academic language development. As a mentor and coach, Cindy has guided new and veteran teachers through reflective practice, data-driven planning, and trauma-informed instruction.
