Biography

Dr. Mickey Wade is the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Associate Laboratory Director for the Fusion and Fission Energy and Science Directorate. He oversees ORNL’s unique facilities and capabilities in providing innovative solutions to challenges facing fusion and advanced nuclear development. He previously served in leadership roles at General Atomics, including the director of the DIII-D National Fusion Program. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and recipient of the Fusion Power Associates Leadership Award. He received a bachelor’s degree in nuclear science and engineering from Virginia Tech and master’s and doctoral degrees in nuclear engineering from Georgia Tech.
