Biography

Matthew Tonkin, Ph.D., has 25 years experience in the environmental sciences. His work often involves the development and application of groundwater and surface-water flow and contaminant transport models, and development and application of (geo-)statistical techniques in support of resource and contaminant analysis and problem-solving. This involves planning data acquisition efforts; collaborating with other experts; and presenting to stakeholders. Matt has worked with the USEPA, USDOE, USGS other agencies, and for the private-sector, to develop methods suitable for designing, evaluating, and optimizing monitoring networks for a wide range of objectives. Matt is currently the President, and a Principal, of SSP&A.
