Biography

John McDonald has over three decades of experience at the U.S. Department of Energy - Hanford Site in South-Central Washington. His experience has included groundwater sampling and water level monitoring, conceptual model development, hydraulic gradient determinations and trend-surface analyses, barometric corrections of water level measurements, analyses of automated water-level data, hydraulic property determinations, statistical analyses, and numerical modeling. His research interests have included groundwater sample representativeness and flow dynamics of high transmissivity aquifers. John currently uses numerical groundwater flow and transport models to evaluate groundwater plume migration and fate and to design and evaluate groundwater pump-and-treat (P&T) systems.
