Biography

TY is the full professor of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Technology in Tokyo Institute of Technology. His major is science and engineering of inorganic glass materials for various applications. Nuclear waste encapsulation in glass and/or glass-ceramics is given his focus for the development of glass matrix compositions and feeding/vitrification processes and also for the understanding melting behaviors using various in-situ techniques from the point of view of high-temperature chemistry of glass.
