Biography

Jason Steward is a licensed, Professional metallurgical engineer in the Development organization at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Steward’s research focus is centered around the physical metallurgy of uranium and the oxidation/corrosion protection of nuclear fuels. During his 7-year tenure at Y-12, Steward has supported the technology maturation of novel, processing techniques to support the Depleted Uranium Modernization Program. Also, Steward has developed and implemented uranium coating technologies in an ongoing effort to reestablish and upgrade capabilities for the Department of Defense’s Survivability, Vulnerability, and Assessment program. Steward holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
