Biography

Dr. Andrew James Martin has a BA and MA in earth sciences from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, and a PhD in tectonics from the University of Ibaraki, Japan. He currently works at the Swiss National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste (Nagra) as a project manager and radiation protection expert. He is also the Progam Director of the Grimsel Training Center. He currently manages several projects focusing on the in-situ migration of radionuclides through granite and barrier materials. Previously he was a research fellow at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and a senior consultant at Quintessa in their Yokohama office, Japan.
