Savannah River Mission Completion
Dr. Holtzscheiter has thirty years of professional experience in chemical/radioactive process development. For most his career, he has been responsible for directing the development of vitrification and chemical processes for the SRS high level waste, the application of vitrification to other high level, mixed, and low level waste, and the formulation of glasses for immobilization of actinides. The two years prior to his retirement in 2007, he was acting Associate Laboratory Director for the Savannah River National Laboratory Energy Security Directorate where he established Energy Security as a new organization in SRNL.
