Biography

Marc Verwerft studied solid state physics (1983-1987) and obtained his PhD in materials science in 1991 as fellow of the National Fund for Scientific Research at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). After a post-doc at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), he joined in 1994 the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre where he currently leads the Fuel Materials group. The activities of the group focus on applied and fundamental research of nuclear fuels.
