Biography

Ernst is a geophysicist and head of the division Non-Destructive Testing Methods for Civil Engineering at BAM (Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung, Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing) in Berlin, Germany. He holds a habilitation from RWTH Aachen, a PhD from University Potsdam and a Diplom in geophysics from TU Berlin. He has a experience with a variety of NDT applications, also in the field of nuclear waste disposal. Currently, he is leading the PREDIS project work package “Innovations in cemented waste handling and pre-disposal storage”.
