Biography

Mr. Taro Shimada is a principal researcher at Nuclear Safety Research Center of Japan Atomic Energy Agency. His works focus on safety assessment for decommissioning of nuclear facilities and radioactive wastes disposal. Recently, he launched a study for risk assessment during dismantling of radioactive components and structures, considering a runoff of radioactive dust on the ground surface deposited at an accidental release during a decommissioning stage with reference to the methodology of Level 3 PRA.
