Alina Aleman is a graduate research assistant at the University of Texas at San Antonio, working in environmental remediation. She graduated from environmental engineering at Universidad Centroamericana in 2019, in her home country, Nicaragua. She has worked in the water treatment sector for different industries' effluents. Still, she is strongly interested in water treatment technologies feasible for small communities, which she has studied since her undergrad. She hopes to keep learning about promising tech that can be used in third-world countries to help people affected because drinking water is polluted.
