Biography

Dr. Dickson is an environmental soil chemist and mineralogist with expertise in low-temperature geochemistry, mineralogy, contaminants’ remediation and material science. His scholarly work encompasses the use of advance spectroscopy approaches to address complex environmental problems related to safe disposition of nuclear waste and remediation of contaminated subsurface (soil, water and groundwater). Dr. Dickson’s research interests span the fundamental understanding of biogeochemical cycling of nutrients, contaminants, heavy metals and radionuclide in natural and engineered porous media. He is interested in the development of multifunctional sorbent materials for sustainable water treatment, CO2 sequestration and remediation of radionuclides.
