Biography

More than 20 years of experience in the field of geological disposal of radioactive waste and more specifically in transport behaviour of radionuclides/solutes/colloids/gases in porous media (clays & cement-based materials). Involved from the start as researcher and/or project leader for research projects in the framework of the Belgian programme on nuclear waste disposal co-ordinated by ONDRAF/NIRAS. Serving as expert for the development of a Safety Case for geological disposal of radioactive waste in clay formations for ONDRAF/NIRAS and COVRA. Throughout the years involved (leading roles) in numerous EC (EURATOM) projects on waste disposal: TRANCOM-Clay, Trancom-II, FUNMIG, NF-PRO, CATCLAY, FORGE, CEBAMA, EURAD1 (GAS, FUTURE, CORI), HARPERS.
