Old Dominion University
Research Professor at the Office of Enterprise Research and Innovation at Old Dominion University and the Executive Director of the Virginia Institute of Spaceflight and Autonomy. His current research focuses on using novel techniques for utilizing digital twins and constructing high fidelity simulations to develop, enhance, and test autonomous behaviors for mobile robots applied in a variety of domains, including service robots, maritime and aerial vehicles. He works extensively with maritime autonomy, using constructive and adversarial behaviors to challenge the resilience of autonomous vessel algorithms and exposing algorithmic gaps.
