Dr. Durjoy Baidya is currently working for the Government of British Columbia as a Senior Business Information and Project Analyst. Before that, he obtained his PhD degree in Mining Engineering from The University of British Columbia. His doctoral research investigated the viability of carbon sequestration in mine tailings and using tailings potential storage of carbon for a carbon-neutral world. He takes a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses the fields of geology, fluid dynamics, environmental engineering, safety, and so on.
He also holds a master’s degree in Mining Engineering from The University of British Columbia, which investigated sustainable energy solutions for remote mines as well as the communities of arctic regions through CHP, energy storage, and waste heat utilization. He has almost four years of research and one year of industrial experience and co-authored 15+ peer-reviewed articles.
