Biography

Mr. Robert Hyland is a Principal Scientist at Charles River Analytics. His specialties include artificial intelligence, behavioral models, and mixed-initiative decision support. He has personally led innovations in geo-spatial news-on-demand, intelligent tutoring systems, multi-trajectory simulation, and intelligence analysis decision support, among other successful research efforts totaling a value of approximately $100M. He has notable experience developing models and human-machine interface for large-scale simulation systems for course-of-action option assessment in uncertain adversarial domains, and has developed decision-support tools that has been deployed to three Intelligence Agencies for operational use. Mr. Hyland is the Director of Program Transition, where he helps field innovative technologies into real world operation.
