Biography

Kiara Pazan is a senior undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering at Florida International University. She is a DOE Fellow and works as a research assistant at the Applied Research Center at FIU. Kiara’s personal interests include wastewater treatment and groundwater and soil remediation. Kiara is an active member of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists and the Water Environment Federation. Her current project investigates the migration and distribution of humic acid injected into subsurface systems for Savannah River Site. Through column experiments, she determines the sorption and desorption properties of humic acid
