Biography

Bruce is currently responsible for developing policy on the siting of a permanent repository for UK higher activity waste and spent nuclear fuel, tying together the aims of a consent-based siting process with the statutory requirements of a nationally significant infrastructure project. Bruce has previously been responsible for UK policy on nuclear decommissioning, plutonium management, reprocessing, Low Level Waste management and third party nuclear liabilities. Prior to his involvement in nuclear issues, Bruce spent several years working on strategic export controls within UK Government and has worked in oil exploration as a geoscientist in Scotland and Nigeria.
