Biography

Steve Schneider is currently the Director of the Office of Waste Management, and is leading the Department’s tank waste technology research and development program. He has 33 years experience in management, engineering, construction waste management, and technology development, having worked for DOE and the chemical industry. Mr. Schneider has also led several large independent review teams that improved cost and operations, and integrated business and technical activates. He recently led an integrated project team that identified transformational technologies that could reduce the existing life-cycle cost of the Department’s tank waste system by more than one third.
